What to Wear
Not sure what to bring? Here’s a simple guide. Bring a few options and we’ll pick the best ones together on the day.
1. The basics
Wear things that fit well and feel comfortable, because you’ll look more relaxed.
Solid colors and simple textures photograph best.
Skip big logos and busy patterns. Small checks and thin stripes can look odd on camera.
Iron or steam everything beforehand.
2. Bring options
Pack four to six tops and a couple of layers, like a jacket or overshirt, in a mix of tones. Neutrals (white, cream, navy, olive, black) always work. A few extra pieces give us room to find what suits you.
3. By session type
Headshots: a couple well-fitting tops, with a collar or a neckline that sits nicely. Add one layer.
Portfolio and editorial: mix casual and sharper looks, and bring one piece with some personality.
Lifestyle and outdoor: think about where we’ll be, and bring jeans, a jacket and shoes you’d actually wear.
Physique: a fitted tank or tee and athletic shorts or trunks. Keep it simple.
4. Day of
Get a haircut a few days before, not the day of.
Tidy your beard or shave, and use moisturizer and lip balm.
Arrive a little early.
5. Not sure? Send me a photo of what you’re thinking of bringing and I’ll help you choose.
